September 16, 2019 Courtney Young, Ph.D., CEO of MyoGeneBio, Receives Grant from MDA Twenty-five research grants totaling more than $6.6 million have been awarded by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) to support studies into the mechanisms of neuromuscular diseases, including Duchenne and other muscular dystrophies.
July 31, 2019 Drs. Melissa Spencer and April Pyle Are Awarded a $175,000 Grant from PPMD. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) is excited to announce that Drs. Melissa Spencer and April Pyle from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Center for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) is the recipient of a $175,000 grant to continue their work optimizing a CRISPR/Cas9 platform to treat people living with Duchenne.

July 31, 2019 Dr. Rachelle Crosbie is Awarded $389K from MDA The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) awarded $389,000 in funding to Dr. Rachelle Crosbie, Professor and Chair of Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA.
September 05, 2018 UCLA Researchers Have Paper Published in “Human Mutation” Journal This is a collaboration between the laboratories of Dr. Stanley Nelson and Dr. Carrie Miceli. This paper has also been selected as an Editor’s Choice article.
August 14, 2018 Postdoc in the Miceli Lab discuss in a review of the literature, the advent of personalized medicine for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Florian Barthélémy, Ph.D., a postdoc at UCLA in the Miceli Lab, and Nicolas Wein, Ph.D., a former Ph.D. colleague, now an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University published a review discussing the recent advancements and the remaining challenges in the gene and cell therapy field for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
