Courtney Young was honored with four prestigious awards from the Molecular Biology

- UCLA Molecular Biology Interdepartmental Program Dissertation Year Award, 2017
- UCLA Jules Brenner Award, 2017
- Dissertation Year Fellowship for 2017-18
Young, is a promising pre-doctoral fellow in Dr. Melissa Spencer’s laboratory, who is co-
mentored by Dr. April Pyle. Her research aims to develop a CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing
therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
