The Muscle Cell Biology Training Program is focused on integrative approaches to train students in muscle cell biology, molecular mechanisms of disease, and translational research.  The faculty use their expertise across a broad range of fields including: genetics, glycobiology, immunology, stem cell biology, biochemistry, physiology, cardiology, molecular and cellular biology as well as expertise in preclinical and clinical trails to provide comprehensive education on the topic of muscle biology and disease.  The goal is that UCLA will be recognized as the leader in muscle education, creating well-rounded doctoral trainees that are trained in state of the art approaches for addressing unanswered questions in muscle biology and disease.
