Amy Martin
Community Liaison
About
Amy Martin graduated with a BA from UCLA. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband and 3 children. In 2007 her youngest son Will was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Amy, and her husband Chris began to organize fundraisers to support the CDMD. In 2013 Amy joined the CDMD as the Community Liaison. In addition to organizing CDMD campus events and the annual fundraiser, Amy communicates with patients and families about the CDMD and the resources available to them. She runs the free swim program for UCLA DMD patients, serves as a community representative on several boards (PPMD, Team Joseph, Marathon, PTC), and aids in the creation and implementation of many of the CDMD programs. Amy is a valuable resource for parents, patients, Dr.’s, researchers, donors, and pharmaceutical companies with her vast knowledge and understanding of the disease and the patient and caregiver experience.
